We’re so excited for our Spring Clean this weekend and can’t wait to see what everyone will be donating, rehoming, and re-loving.

So you can put your best foot and outfit forward, we’ve rounded up (and tied with a pretty bow!) our top five spring cleaning tips and tricks. Throw open your wardrobe doors, drawers and hearts and let’s make an impact together.

     1. Schedule Your Spring Clean

We get it – we’re all super busy and time moves as quickly as this season’s fashion trends, which is why it’s important to schedule a time over the weekend to clear out your wardrobe. Once it’s locked in your diary make sure to commit – your future self and the women and girls you’re helping will thank you for it.

2.  One Section at a Time

To avoid making a floordrobe or tossing everything on that chair (you know the one), we suggest going through your wardrobe in sections. Tackle tops first, then bottoms and finish off with your dresses.

3.    Keep, Donate or Still Deciding

As you sort through your clothes create two separate piles; one for the pieces you love and want to keep, and a second for the pre-loved clothes that you no longer wear (and are still in great condition) that you’ll be donating to Dress for Dignity. If there are items that you’re unsure whether to donate or keep, put them aside and over the next month keep note of how frequently, if at all, you wear those items. If a month goes by and you haven’t worn something, then maybe it’s time to re-home it with someone who will love it as much as you used to.

4. List for Sale

Once you have all the items to donate, it’s time to list them for sale. Grab a cuppa (or a cheeky glass of red) and get your computer ready. Head to Sell / Dress for Dignity - Pre-loved Online Fashion Marketplace and follow the prompts. When selecting a photo, we would LOVE to see an image of you wearing the item, even if it’s an old photo. Otherwise we recommend taking a clear photograph in good lighting against a plain background.

5. Stay Motivated and Make It Fun

We’re not all Marie Kondo so maybe the thought of organising your space may not seem that fun. But we’re here to motivate and remind you that by spring cleaning your closet you are making the right fashion choice and are helping others. So pick an upbeat playlist, pop on your favourite tunes and having a dance party in your bedroom as you clear out your wardrobe.
